Of course, these tests were conducted on a very powerful machine (AMD Phenom 9700, 2 GB of memory, hard drives at 10,000 trs Raptor), but they allow you to have a good idea of what can make Service Pack 1 in terms of 'improved performance. The tests were to move, compress and extract a 644 MB file and a folder containing 3495 files spread across 30 cases for a total of 5.15 GB
The performance gap is so important; the tests were performed several times, to ensure the validity of the results some of which are presented below:

Es different tests show Microsoft's efforts to reduce bottlenecks with regard to the transfer of files, in whatever operations: copying files or folders on local or network, or through an external hard disk type USB.
But that alone will make a Window Vista adopt faster, knowing that the Service Pack 3 for Windows XP, will offer enhanced performance on the order of 10%, according to some sources.
