The exit of Windows Live Messenger 9 seems quite remote since planned for the end of 2008 even beginning 2009. However, future of the customer of instant messaging of Microsoft dedicated to its network owner made as of now speaking about him. It should be said that the private phase of beta test has just begun and certain testers could not be solved to hold their language.
Already announced with a broader compatibility for the networks third (AIM, GTalk and ICQ in addition to Yahoo! Messenger) or the access to API for the whole of the editors, WLM 9 also introduced a directed functionality safety already implemented into the first beta release in order to fight against the SPIM, Spam over Urgent Messaging.
Closely related to conventional and well-known Spam, the SPIM one of its derivatives is conveyed through the networks of instant messaging. To the sandstone of the vulnerabilities affecting the software of IM and benefitting from the naivety of certain users, the SPIM manages to deliver not requested messages generally accompanied by a bond pointing towards a malicious site lodging of the malwares.
Few details were revealed concerning this functionality (apparently Microsoft hardly appreciated certain publications which were withdrawn) but it would be a question a priori of constituting a database of “spammers “licensed after alarm of the users, for blocking their accounts if necessary.
Except this fight to tell the SPIM, various escapes speak for WLM 9 about the possibility of having recourse to GIF animated for the personal images, the association of a specific sound related to the action of a contact, the possibility of clicking on of URLs inserted in the zone of statute.
