Goowy is the ideal solution for those who want to have everything in a same location. It initiated its walking in August of the last year but little by little they have been incorporating interesting functionalities. GB’s of capacity allows us to manage our personal communications including mail, management of contacts, calendar and instantaneous mail.

At the time of forming the mail they allow us to concern all our mail and contacts from our accounts in Yahoo, Hotmail, MSN or Gmail. It organizes our digital contents allowing storage of archives. We can upload our music, photography’s, documents. We can accede and share all this contained from any computer. Also it offers page to us of so fashionable beginning lately, allowing to recojer in an only location all the information that interests to us: the time, quotations of stock market, photos of flickr, markers etc.

Desktop of Demo account is activating very quickly and first window which you could see is Welcome window which contain available applications and options for setups. Desktop is very simple and very easy for navigation - one panel in bottom of the screen represent only element which is visible on desktop. One element which you can notice is that there is no option to minimize any windows which is opened, what is on start a big minus. After all this, hole first impression is extremely positive, although it little bit reminds on Windows Vista.

List of programs which Goowy support is not very long, list is based mostly on internet services, without going to much into multimedia and office solutions. Difference between this and other similar solutions which we will also test is there level of usage.

Mail and IM Clients

IM client supports few protocols, while into Goowy calendar you can import contacts in all familiar formats. Export is also available, while email client enables integration some of popular web mails or even POP3 account. You have ability to drag and drop e-mail messages into folders. It makes organization very intuitive and for the average users. Another great thing about using Goowy as your e-mail client is that you can send e-mail from the address you already have created. Unlike Gmail which allows you to set the Reply-To and then shows up as "yourgmail@mail.com on Behalf of your@email.com", Goowy will send the message with yours@emailaddress.com

Viewing HTML email is one place where the Flash/AJAX interaction provides a big boost. The spell checker, the draft view and the rich text editing are done quickly and nicely with AJAX.. We also should not forget filters for spam messages which are exist in Goowy email.

Widgets

The things that Goowy makes different then other similar projects are his widgets. Goowy's widgets provide a range of functionality by tapping into external APIs. With widgets you have possibility to search for photos on Flickr.com, you can follow your favorite sport results, you can follow weather, listen the songs on iTunes, and much more other stuffs.

Goowy Flash Games

Beside all these features which we mention above there is one more, we hope very interesting one; Goowy has build a game library which allows you to play number of small Flash games which are separated in few categories. If you get tired of every day work you can very easily switch to any of game inside library. Combining this with the fact that Goowy lets you customize your look and feel (very easily) and you've got something that can hook common users and give them some ownership over their web client.

Our final Conclusions

Goowy tries to improve its product by including very soon new services (instantaneous Transport multiprotocol and storage of files). Goowy is a great application precisely because it makes the best of Flash and the best of AJAX. Their strategy is to improve fidelity of their users in their giving always more reasons to remain on Goowy and thus to increase their advertising inventory and the options of services premiums.
