Sharing your photos with Google Picasa Web Album - Part 1

Want to show your photos to your relatives or friends? For this, there are many options: you can make a consolidated shipment by email, create a Web site, keep a blog or use a sharing service.

One of the most simple and practical is to use free software from Google called Picasa and its service Web Album, which is also free. You can freely publish your photos on the Internet in the form of Web Album. Then just invite your friends to come see your album with a simple Web browser. They will even have the opportunity to leave comments on your pictures!

To store your pictures, the Google Web Album offers a free 1 GB of disk space. What expose several thousand images of good quality! If you find this inadequate capacity, you always have the possibility to extend it by subscribing to a fee (about 25 $ / year for 7 GB up to $ 400 to 251 GB) ... or creating several free accounts. With this Google Picasa tip which will be separated into four chapters I will show you how to use Google Picasa Web Album service.

Identifying photos

  1. Picasa is then executed,
  2. If a new update is available, click Yes, download it now,
  3. Close then Picasa and run it again by clicking its icon in the Quick Launch bar,
  4. In his first start, a window Initial analysis of photos opens. Make sure Conduct a comprehensive analysis… is selected and then click on the Continue button,
  5. Picasa will then consider all of your hard drive in search of your photos. This process may take a long time if you have a lot of pictures,
  6. Picasa displays all your images in chronological order.

Open an account Google

  1. Before you show your photos on the Internet, you need a Google Web Album. This free account you will provide 1 GB to store your images,
  2. Launch Picasa,
  3. At the top right of the window, click the Connection Web Albums,
  4. In the window that appears, click Join Web Albums,
  5. Then, click Create a Google and sign up for Picasa Web Album,
  6. How fill the form which appears. Check the box Please tick here… then click on the button I agree. Create an account,
  7. Then open your email. You have received a message from Google to confirm your subscription. Open the message and click the link that appears,
  8. Your account is now activated. Close your Web browser,
  9. Return to Picasa. Enter the username and password you set when you register. Make sure "Remember me on this computer is checked and then click the Connect button,
  10. Your e-mail address appears at the top right of Picasa. You are logged,
  11. Click on the link Web Album, which is right next door,
  12. In the window that appears, click Accept. Your storage space for your Web Albums is ready!
