To remove the messages of your Inbox file is not enough to remove them definitively from your Outlook messaging software. It necessary and is thus recommended to empty the file of the emails removed from time to time to gain a little disk space and thus to improve the performances of your messaging software.

And why not automate this suppression with each closing of Outlook?

While following the following stages, Outlook will empty automatically the file emails removed with each closing:

1. In Outlook, go in Tools and Options

2. In the tab Other, notch the option “Empty the Deleted Items folder upon exiting”

3. Click on the Ok button to confirm the changes.

From now on the basket of Outlook will be emptied with each closing. But let me also note that you can also empty your basket before you close Outlook.
