  What is RSS?
RSS is a practicable XML standard, in order to make messages or textual information’s available for other computers. Differently than with a Website callable in the Browser, in a RSS file the information is reduced to contents and marked logically, so that it is interpretable by machines. RSS stands times as abbreviation for “Rich Site Summary”, “RDF Site Summary” or also for “Really simple Syndication”. This has to do with the developing history of the different RSS versions.
