Configuring the Windows Messaging Viewer

Start Windows Messaging by double-clicking the Inbox icon on your desktop. The Windows Messaging viewer appears open to the Inbox folder so you can see your latest incoming messages. Messages that you have not yet read are shown in boldface, while those that you have already seen are in the normal font. Next Table summarizes the most common icons in the viewer.

Applications that work with Windows Messaging, such as Microsoft Project and Schedule+, have their own icons for various types of messages. If you use Windows Messaging to store documents other than messages, you will see icons for those various document types. These will be the same icons as you'd see in Explorer for those documents.
The status bar at the bottom of the Windows Messaging window is optional. If you hide it, you'll have more room in the window for messages. To toggle the status bar on or off, choose View, Status Bar.
