Change computer is a binding because it is necessary to transfer all your files, re-set the computer and re-install the necessary software.

It is very easy to do all necessary job before windows reinstallation with a new Windows Vista utility that lets you to transfer from one system to another files but also all the parameters: user account parameters of your favorite software …

And after an initial test, it works pretty well.

Prerequisites:

Having two PC’s with Windows Vista or two PC‘s with Windows Vista and Windows XP. If you have two computers one with Vista and second with XP it will be necessary to insert the DVD of Windows Vista in the computer with XP. If both computers are equipped with Vista, simply start the utility by typing "transfer" in the search bar, Start Menu.

Note: the utility does not copy the software, be sure to re-install the front if you want to pass the parameters of the concerned programs.

A simplified procedure:

Once the utility launched it is enough to indicate whether you are on the old or new PC and select files and profiles to be transferred. You can switch configurations either via cable, network (Ethernet or WiFi), DVD (it will take you a lot) or removable disk (an MP3 player, for example). I urge you to avoid WiFi if you have a large amount of data to transfer. The slow pace is such that you are going to pull out your hair. The transfer Ethernet cable and the best compromise unless you have a USB cable specifically designed for the transfer. There you can sit back and wait to find a configuration similar to your old PC.

In closing this little utility that does not sound like much makes proud services for those rare times when you have to make transfers.
