If you have small icon in system tray which is worming you constantly that your computer is in risk ("Your computer might be at risk.") we have solution for you and we will explain how you can turn off Windows Security Alerts from Windows Vista.

  1. Double click on red icon with red shield in bottom right corner
  2. new window will open with few subcategories. In right side of this window you should see option "Change the way Security Center alerts me.", click on that option,
  3. Now you should see three options, if you do not want to see any more that red shield in bottom of the screen choose "Don't notify me and don't display the icon (not recommended).",
  4. you also have option to choose that red shield be visible but to not popup annoying messages, that option can be setup by choosing "Don't notify me, but display the icon.", both messages will block popup messages but it's on you to choose which one is best for you.

Note: If you are one of those who forget to update their Windows and antivirus with latest updates we strongly recommend that you do not turn off this message, because she can only help you by warning you that you need to update your protection, but if you do that regularly this message will not be visible so this could be another solution.
