Place a message on Windows Vista automatic logon

Windows Vista allows users to configure the display of messages automatically when you log on the system, before the Welcome screen. Thus, all users who access the computer will have easy access to information you wish to convey. For this, we need some simple steps, which involve access their local security policies.

Warning: Changing some information on security policy may cause malfunction of the system. So it is important to follow the steps of the tutorial exactly as shown.

Only the versions Business, Enterprise and Vista Ultimate to have the "Executive Editor of the Local Group." Therefore, this article should be adapted to other versions of the system.

Instructions Level: Intermediate

1. Click the Start button and type "policy" in the search field. Then click the result which will appear as on the image below:

2. The screen will display the User Security Control if the User Account Control (UAC) is active. Click Continue button.

3. This will open the window of the Local Security Policy

4. Expand the item "Local Policies" and select "Security Options".

5. On the right, find the options "Interactive Logon: Message text for users attempting to log on" and "Interactive Logon: Message title for users attempting to log on."

6. Then right-click in the "Interactive Logon: Message text for users attempting to log on" and select Properties.

7. In the window that opens, type the text to be displayed during the logon of Windows Vista. Do not worry, because there is no limit to the number of characters inserted. When finished, click OK.

8. Repeat step 6, this time selecting the item "Interactive Logon: Message title for users attempting to log on." In the window that opens, type the title of the text typed in the previous step. When finished, click OK.

9. Note that in the window "Local Security Policy" in the "Security Configuration", will display the text you typed.

10. Now just close the window of "Local Security Policy". From now on, every time you boot the system, this message will appear. To make changes or configure a new message, just follow abowe steps again and make necessary changes
