Redialing automatically when you have a busy signal

May 29 , 2006 9:12 AM

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you get a busy signal often, when connecting to your Internet service provider, you can have your computer automatically redial until you get through. You can do this as long as the connection is initiated by you and not the Web browser or any other application. Dial-Up Networking will keep trying to connect until you get through. To activate this feature, you do this:

  1. From the Desktop, double-click the My Computer icon.
  2. Double-click the Dial-Up Networking icon.
  3. Open the Connections menu.
  4. Click Settings.
  5. Put a check in the "Redial" checkbox.
  6. Now, set the Between tries wait option (this sets the time that will elapse between each redial).
  7. Then select the number of times that the computer will try until it should give up.
  8. Click OK to save your settings.
